Episcia 'Alice's Aussie' | Alice's Aussie Episcia

Fresh cutting as seen in the photo. Each cutting is selected with the necessary stem, node, rhizome, or growth mass required for propagation.

Episcia 'Alice's Aussie' is a colorful cultivated Episcia hybrid prized for its large leaves, silvery-pink midrib, iridescent rose-pink markings, and dark contrasting margins. Its bold foliage, orange-red flowers, and vigorous stolon-forming growth habit make it a favorite among gesneriad collectors and an excellent addition to terrariums, hanging baskets, and indoor tropical plant collections.

Mature Size: Typically reaches 6–8 in. (15–20 cm) tall and can spread 12–24+ in. (30.5–61+ cm) over time by stolons.

Difficulty: Easy to Moderate

Rarity: Uncommon ⭐⭐

Plant Care

Light: Bright, indirect light to partial shade; avoid harsh direct sun.

Water: Allow the substrate to become slightly dry between waterings, then water with room-temperature water. Avoid cold water and soggy conditions.

Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity (60%+).

Temperature: Prefers 65–80°F (18–27°C).

Soil: Well-draining, moisture-retentive mix rich in organic matter.

Propagation

Episcia 'Alice's Aussie' is readily propagated from stem cuttings, stolons, or rooted plantlets. Because it is a cultivated hybrid, propagation by vegetative methods preserves the distinctive foliage coloration, flowering traits, and growth habit of the parent plant. Place cuttings or plantlets in moist sphagnum moss or a well-draining propagation mix until roots and new growth develop.
