Cissus amazonica | Amazon Jungle Vine
Fresh cutting as seen in the photo. Each cutting is selected with the necessary stem, node, rhizome, or growth mass required for propagation.
Cissus amazonica is a striking tropical climbing vine prized for its elongated dark green foliage, silvery markings, and deep burgundy undersides. Its dramatic coloration, elegant vining habit, and appreciation for warm, humid conditions make it a favorite among houseplant enthusiasts and an excellent addition to hanging baskets, trellises, terrariums, and indoor tropical plant collections.
Mature Size: Vines can exceed 3–6+ ft (0.9–1.8+ m) indoors with proper support, though growth can be maintained smaller through pruning.
Difficulty: Moderate
Rarity: Uncommon ⭐⭐
Plant Care
Light: Bright, indirect light; avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the foliage.
Water: Keep the soil lightly moist but never waterlogged, allowing the surface to become slightly dry between waterings.
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity (60%+).
Temperature: Prefers 65–85°F (18–29°C).
Soil: Well-draining, moisture-retentive mix rich in organic matter.
Propagation
Cissus amazonica is readily propagated from stem cuttings containing at least one node. Place cuttings in water, moist sphagnum moss, or a well-draining propagation mix until roots and new growth develop.
